Job Summary

The Senior Tax Manager directs the day to day operations of Tax Strategies: ensures Moneta Group is informed of tax law developments that may affect clients and/or business; provides services as requested to principal teams and/or clients; develops and implements strategic growth plan to increase Tax Strategies’ business and profitability.

Duties & Responsibilities

  •  Manages operational aspects of the department including processes, client service, administration, marketing, and human resources to reach goals
  •  Keeps Moneta teams/departments informed of related tax topics including tax law changes and pending legislation
  •   Reviews and approves individual, trust, estate, gift, pass-through and corporate tax returns
  •   Reviews and approves payroll tax returns/personal property tax returns
  •   Performs research as requested by principal teams and/or clients
  •   Performs tax planning; reviews tax projections on a quarterly and/or as needed
  •  Participates in client review meetings as needed
  •  ¨ Commits to unending education to remain an authority in tax matters
  •   Increases Tax Strategies visibility to develop additional client service opportunities
  •   Sets expectations, motivates, and develops all team members
  •   Monitors and evaluates individual and team performance
  • Acts as a good steward of the firm’s resources and ensures control of the Tax Strategies department budget
  •   Collaborates and builds effective relationships with Moneta employees and clients
  •   Fosters an environment of open, honest, and timely communication
  •   Ensures the vision and core values of Moneta Group are incorporated into the duties and responsibilities of the position

Qualifications

  •  Certified Public Accountant; current license in good standing 
  •   Ten years or more experience in public accounting including 5 years in a management role
  •   Passionate about tax services
  •   Demonstrated success managing and supervising a team
  •  Demonstrated success in a leadership role
  •   Solid strategic thinker, problem solver, and decision maker
  •   Demonstrated ability to drive execution and results
  •   Highly motivated to continue learning
  •   Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  •   Ability to interact well with clients and all employees
  •   Commitment to ‘Raving Fan’ service
  •   Professional attitude, demeanor, and appearance
