Instructional Designer/Facilitator

Job Summary


The Instructional Designer/Facilitator will partner with the Manager of Talent & Organization Development to help create our Partner in Training Program, and other training initiatives for all employees to ensure there is opportunity to pursue career goals, and realize their potential.


In addition to creating standard learning events or experiences, the Designer/Facilitator will operate with a wide degree of creativity to ensure our learning strategies are considering the most current and/or alternative forms of learning, and incorporating many approaches including existing and emerging technologies.


The Designer/Facilitator promotes collaboration, partnerships and relationships among the participants in all design projects.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Works with subject matter experts and key stakeholders to translate business needs into high-impact learning designs (e.g., e-learning, curriculum, tools, workshops, instructor-led training, etc.)
  • Collaborates with Manager to create specific curriculum by job title, up to and including, Partners; ensures programs are competency based, with testing to determine proficiency and organizational impact
  • Designs a variety of instructional materials for traditional instructor-led courses, online programs, web-based learning aids or products, and other programs as needed
  • Develops materials for courses based on information provided by subject matter experts to create the best coursework possible
  • Creates and manages work plans, communication and implementation plans, and sustainability processes to support Training / Learning initiatives
  • Creates realistic objectives for learning or performance for students and instructors
  • Remains aware of all emerging instructional technologies and makes recommendations about when to adopt certain systems to continue to offer the best learning experience possible
  • Facilitates a “Train the Trainer” model where appropriate
  • Designs and develops assessments that measure mastery of course material and evaluate ability to perform job-related tasks; analyzes evaluation data and participates in reviews as part of the quality assurance process; makes recommendations and implements modifications necessary to ensure continuous improvement
  • Facilitates learners in acquiring knowledge, skills and competencies in an effective and appealing manner
  • Fosters an environment of open, honest, and timely communication
  • Ensures the vision and core values of Moneta Group are incorporated into the duties and responsibilities of the position


  • Bachelor’s degree in related field; Master’s degree field preferred
  • Three years or more experience in curriculum development
  • Financial industry experience preferred
  • Working knowledge of adult learning and instructional design principles, including e-learning
  • Experience with Learning Management Systems is desirable
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Experience with graphics software, web-based training programs (Articulate, Captivate, Storyline etc.)
  • Highly organized, ability to prioritize and successfully manage multiple projects with tight deadlines
