  • Job Summary

    Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, the FP&A Analyst performs and fulfills the Company’s financial quarterly forecast, annual budgeting process, operating plan variance analysis, and special project needs; will provide financial consulting and strategic support to Partner Teams and Senior Management including preparing financial presentations, cost analysis, financial elements to evaluate new business opportunities, acquisition analysis, return on investments, financial modelling and other projects requested by the Chief Financial Officer and Senior Management. This function acts as the analytical engine of the company to provide insights and support ‘optimal’ business decision making. The position reports to the Chief Financial Officer.

    Duties & Responsibilities

    • Analyzes current and past trends in key performance indicators including all areas of revenue, expenditures, capital investments
    • Monitors performance indicators, highlighting trends and analyzing causes of unexpected variances
    • Oversees and manages the continued development of Budgeting, Financial Forecasting, and Modeling tools
    • Provides ad-hoc reporting and analysis
    • Creates quarterly and monthly financial reports and Key Performance Indicators
    • Improves performance by evaluating processes to drive efficiencies and understand ROI of various projects and investments
    • Develops financial models and analyses to support strategic initiatives
    • Analyzes complex financial information and reports to provide accurate and timely financial recommendations to Senior Management for decision making purposes
    • Reviews and updates ‘Quarterly Management Service Fee Forecast’ and adjusts brackets as needed
    • Review and Update Quarterly Working Capital Holdback and adjust to lower partner due to/due from
    • Responsible for Partner Team P&L and Personnel Planning Forecasts
    • Working with Accounting Manager, tactical completion of annual budget with teams
    • Financial modelling and due diligence for Mergers & Acquisitions
    • Provides Finance division support for Practice Management needs
    • Reviews accounting file for month-end to reconcile all balance sheet accounts, which includes back-up documentation for the accounts
    • Working with Accounting Manager, analyzes monthly Partner P&L reports and assists Partners and their teams with analytical questions as needed
    • Other Finance & Accounting projects and assistance as needed

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance or Data Science; CPA preferred
    • Accounting or Consulting firm experience desired
    • Three years or more experience in financial reporting, analytics and/or financial modelling
    • Advanced Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Access skills.
    • Highest standards of accuracy and precision; highly organized.
    • Articulate with excellent verbal and written communication skills
    • Ability to think creatively, highly-driven and self-motivated
    • Demonstrated ability to roll-up sleeves, compile and review large quantities of detailed data and then distil key trends, information and actionable insights so that intended audience understands and can make better decisions and change.
    • Problem solve and utilize critical thinking skills to address and anticipate problems before they become problems
