VP of Finance

Job Summary

Moneta is searching for a Chief Financial Officer to join our Executive Leadership group on the Enterprise Services Team. The Chief Financial Officer is accountable for the administrative, financial, and risk management operations of the company. This includes the development of a financial and operational strategy, metrics tied to that strategy, and the ongoing development and monitoring of control systems designed to preserve company assets and report accurate financial results.


Moneta is an independent Registered Investment Advisor (RIA) wholly focused on going further for our clients. We are one firm with many solutions, and we provide a full spectrum of financial advisory services, but our true purpose is centered on building relationships and providing exceptional service to our clients around the globe.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Ensure the preparation of monthly reporting package that includes balance sheets, profit and loss statements, statement of cash flows, and a monthly budget variance statement
  • Provide effective and efficient GAAP and Statutory Financial Statements reporting and analysis to President/COO to assist in managing profitability and in identifying future opportunities and risks
  • Provide financial forecasting, budgeting, and analysis to various members of management to assist in annual and multi-year planning processes
  • Participate in all merger and acquisition projects including financial analyses, negotiation, and integration of new Advisor/Partner teams
  • Prepare all financial reporting materials and metrics for the Partner teams; prepare and communicate monthly and annual financial and operational metrics statements and reports
  • Creation of financial models from the ground up
  • Oversee Treasury functions including proper maintenance of liquidity position, investment of temporary excess working capital with consideration to risk and liquidity, oversight of capital structure determining best mix of debt and equity
  • Build meaningful relationships with Partners and business unit leaders as a strategic partner/consultant to improve revenues, increase efficiencies, and control costs
  • Act as a Financial consultant to Partner teams for benchmarking, practice management, team compensation structures, and other related matters
  • Proactively identify areas for improvement and offer solutions in the firm function, firm business, and Partner teams
  • Coach, mentor, and guide the financial staff to increase productivity and control costs
  • Relies on extensive experience and judgement to plan and accomplish goals
  • Oversees the regulatory accounting/controllership functions
  • Oversee tax compliance and provision
  • Operate with a wide degree of creativity and latitude
  • Foster an environment of open, honest, and timely communication

  • B.S. Accounting or Finance; Master’s degree in Accounting or Business preferred
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) required
  • 10+ years of relevant experience
  • Extensive hands on experience in forecasting and modeling
