Retirement Plan Advisor

Job Summary

The Advisor will work closely with the Partner and other Advisors on a Retirement Team to learn and advise on all aspects of the Retirement/401(k) business. This Advisor will work with Partners to give the appropriate advice for clients on issues ranging from investment strategies to participant education programs within our 401(k) practice. Our Advisors are expected to participate and lead client meetings as well as work directly with retirement plan participants. In all client interactions our Advisors need to reinforce the 'Why' for Moneta.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Work closely with Partners and other Advisors to learn all aspects of Retirement/401(k) practice
  • Manage all aspects of relationship with 401(k) advisory clients
  • Build deep, lasting relationships with clients and prospects
  • Facilitate and attend client review meetings
  • Deliver and manage participant education programs
  • Identify and incorporate value-added analysis
  • Work with Partner to facilitate services for client including investment menu design, plan design consulting, education planning, and fiduciary consulting
  • Commit to ongoing education to remain an authority in retirement plan and 401(k)
  • Field participant phone calls
  • Keep Partner informed on team and client issues
  • Work within a team setting to evaluate and modify client service
  • Travel as necessary to meet with clients
  • Ensure 'Why' of Moneta are incorporated into the duties and responsibilities of the role


  • Series 65 preferred
  • 5+ years experience in the retirement advising or 401(k) industry
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Powerpoint)
  • Familiarity with general investment offerings and defined contribution investment landscape
  • Experience working in a team environment with strong team player mentality
  • Service oriented work ethic
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Interest and comfort with presenting to participants including groups and individuals
  • Ability to interact well with clients and team members
